Helping You Move With Confidence

About Me, Sophie Redfern – Yorkshire Pilates Instructor

My own experience with back problems led me to discover Pilates and completely changed the direction of my career. Today, I help people of all ages and abilities build strength, improve mobility and feel more confident through supportive, welcoming Pilates classes.

My Story

From Nursing To Pilates

I’ve always been passionate about health and fitness, but my journey into Pilates began after I was diagnosed with a back condition. At the time I was working as a nurse in London, and my back problems meant I needed to rethink my career.

Around the same time I got married, moved to Yorkshire and started a family. I first retrained as an exercise-to-music teacher before qualifying as a Pilates instructor in 2003, combining my passion for health, movement and teaching.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing clients grow in confidence and learn how regular Pilates can help them manage pain, improve mobility and enjoy a healthier, more active life.

What My Clients Say

Sophie has reawakened my interest in Pilates after a lapse due to a seat belt injury. She is enthusiastic and bubbly, which makes the class fun. Sophie is constantly aware of the different abilities within the class and encourages everyone to work at a level that suits them. Already I can feel a difference in my back and neck, and I'm sure Pilates will help me regain strength and mobility.
